Hello! I’m Auntie, though my friends know me as Juliann. My passion for animals took root during my childhood having been raised on a small farm. Growing up surrounded by chickens, pigs, horses, goats, rabbits and more taught me the language of animals, a skill that has only sharpened over the decades. If you look at my picture, Im not young, but I am wise.
I formally began my professional pet-sitting journey in 2012. At the time, I was completing a year-long counseling course in San Francisco. Living in San Francisco isnt cheap. Interestingly, I took the course to enhance my then career as a somatic therapist, but it became the secret ingredient to my unique approach in pet care. I don’t just see an animal; I see a nervous system that needs to feel safe, respected, and understood. Dont we all?
I have significant expertise in handling specialized pet care requirements that often intimidate others. From administering subcutaneous injections to preparing enticing meals that even the most finicky eater will eat, to mucking a stall… I am that woman.
My heart is drawn to the “vulnerable” categories: the dignified seniors who need patience and mobility assistance, the high-energy puppies who need consistent boundaries, and the reactive or anxious souls who view the world as a scary place. I provide a calming presence and a structured environment. I recognize the subtle signs of anxiety before they escalate.
As I continueto build my community of Aunties, I promise that we all have the same passion and knowledge of pet care. This is why I created this business. I couldn’t imagine someone caring for the animals I love so much. So I figured I’d find other Aunties that Id trust with my own animals.
We service the areas from Asheville, NC to Charlotte, NC but are willing to travel if the fit is right!
Beyond just a backyard chore, checking your dog’s stool is a vital way to monitor their physical and emotional well-being. A healthy dog typically has solid, well-formed, and “woody brown” poop, though the exact appearance often depends on their specific diet. The “Sads” and Digestive Lags Most dogs should poop at least twice a day.…
Peanut butter can be an effective way to help your dog take medication or as a treat when leaving the house, but it must be used in moderation and should be free of Xylitol. This artificial sweetener is extremely toxic and potentially fatal to dogs, leading to rapid insulin release, low blood sugar, seizures, and…
